The slower I go the deeper I flow

Poetic Dan

I was often told I should learn to read faster

This is something I could never really master

Stopping at school no book picked up after

Until my late 20s reading the bedtimes story

Mr men & women and other magical fairytales

You realise while reading tortoise and the hare

The reason you never wanted to race to the end

You see that words bring the power of emotions with them

I feel everyone as if they are all part of my soul

This maybe why my finishing line was so difficult to spot

For my mind likes to sit down listening to the thoughts

As my imagination starts to join in and I'm on a new world

Then as I continue on my perception is never the same again

This is why intelligence will never be a race

The only thing we'll be judging is what we can't yet comprehend

Everything exists here to teach and be taught

It's up to us to absorb every vibrational source

We all go at our own pace in life, if you go quickly there are many things that we don't see, going slowly you absorb more.
I have recently read a book which I was reading slower and slower as I thought it was so good I didn't want to finish reading it.

I'm lucky if I get to the end of most books but they all had an impact as it should.

First impressions are something which just happens, difficult to combat. I guess learning to look inside ones self and ask why did i form that impression may be a beginning to correct this. But you're so right intelligence cannot be a race. It's a continual learning.

Mr Men stories - were they about Mr Men or pleasing young minds with care and love. Simple words "bring the power of emotions with them" in all sorts of guises.
            So right.

            • Poetic Dan

Asking to why that first one came just keeps going on and on.
But I'd not have my brain any other way
