LADY IN RED ~ IS DANCING WITH ME ~ AMEN !
ANGELA & I ~ Introduced at a Dance
A BALL in a Hall ~ as I recall
And I don't think it happened by Chance
More STRICTLY than Brawl ~ it was a BALL!
My Parents are very Good Dancers
So I was taught at SEVEN ~ Dance is Heaven
My Folks danced smooth ~ not just Prancers
I looked good in my TUX at ELEVEN !
ANGELA looked perfect ~ Lady in Red
And I had worn my Tux and black bow tie
The image I first saw forever in my Head
Love at first Sight and first Sigh !
Our first Dance not the the WALTZ but ~ t'was the TANGO
How I thanked GOD for learning Spanish Dancing
Passe Doble ~ Rumba ~ Salsa & Fandango
Everybody stopped and watched US DANCE THAT TANGO !
My MUM has taught me ~ "Girls like Men who Dance"
Ballroom Dancing really is an Art
Whether you're in Greece or Spain or France
Culture includes Dancing ~ an important Part !
When we sat down with a Glass of Wine
Tu eres un muy buen Ballandero BRIAN !
She said ~ Muchos Gracias Angela ~ I replied
And I knew that Night one day ~ She'd be my BRIDE.

MOTHERS no BEST ! Some of my Mates at Grammar School
laughed at me because I was interested in Ballroom Dancing
especially SPANISH ! But I loved the intensity of the Spanish
Language ~ Culture & Dancing. I play Classical Guitar which
endears me to my Future In-Laws. I realised ANGELA had
some Spanish Blood the way she Danced the Tango and the
perfection of her accent when she spoke Spanish. Su Padre
is a Spanish Wine Merchant ~ Su Madre is English (LONDON)
That was two years ago and we have been inseparable ever
since ~ except that ANGELA is in New Zealand for a Year ~
11,500 miles away ~ BUT I WILL DANCE WITH HER NEXT WEEK !

GRACIAS FAY ~ You are a Romantic and I know you adore Love Poems form the Heart. Chris DeBurgh broke the mold with that one and it is our fave Song because of how we met. Angela told me she had intended to wear an LBD as it was a Formal Dance but her Guardian Angel whispered "Be daring and wear RED" so she did ~ AMEN. What I found out was "You can learn more about a Lady in an Evening of Formal Dancing than you can in a normal Month ~ and we DID. Yours as always BRIAN & ANGELA.
I'll choke on me Horlicks or Ovaltine if I see that clip in the evening! lol.

Your Poem is exactly as I remember it. Your were 33 and I was 28 and we had both had several relationships but none had "Ticked all the Boxes". To be introduced to an English Gentleman with GOOD Spanish, could Dance the Tango, Loved Flamenco& Spanish Culture, could play the Guitar and was a committed Christian & a Scientist was a miracle : THERE IS A GOD. and when we kissed I WAS CAUGHT UP INTO SEVENTH HEAVEN. As You say (except for now 11,500 miles) we have been inseparable ever since! Next week we will "Dance with the Maoris" and I will "Dance the POI" for you! Good write, yes dancing can be wonderful.
As for Lady in Red, Joyce and I and family members went out to lunch one day and there was a singer there to entertain us, Joyce was wearing a red dress and the singer stood in front of her and sang Lady in Red to her.
THANKS ANDY ~ It is the little surprises in LIFE that make it all worthwhile ~ and live in our Memory forever ! Just like I went to A Hospital Ball and had a close encounter with "A Beautiful Lady in Red ~ ANGELA" AMEN. I miss dancing with Her when she is 11,500 miles away but NEXT WEEK ........... !
