The stage was before us,
The empty stage was before us.
From the back we started singing
And walked in beat to the stage,
Singing a joyful song.
The stage was full.
We burst into another song,
The performance had started.
We sang with gusto,
We sang with joy,
And the songs sailed out
For all to hear,
For all to enjoy.
And enjoy it they did.
We finished the concert
And the audience were on their feet,
Applauding us with vigour.
The smiles on their faces
Matching the smiles on ours.
We had done it!
Performed as well as we could
And the enjoyment seen all around
Was almost tangible.
A concert full of song,
Full of joy,
Full of absolute enjoyment,
Enjoyment for all.

- Comment from author about the poem: I sing bass in Community Choir of which I am a founder member, we did our summer concert last month and it was a wonderful success, probably the best we have ever performed and all enjoyed it. The video is by The Spooky Mens Chorale which is one of our Music Directors favourite groups. They are both funny and serious.

A fine enjoyable write and clip Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
Sounds like a great event - wish I'd been there.
It really was Michael. The next big one is December 8th, our Christmas Concert.

~Laura~
Is that you on the left, at about 1:28 into the clip?!
THANKS ANDY ~ You are branching out with your MUSIC. I do enjoy (some) Folk Singing but it always amuses me ! I have an Australian Friend who has some Spooky Men CD's. Your clip is hilarious ! Love the POEM I have been in Large Choirs (Bass / Baritone) and singing music like Handel's Messiah always lifts me to a Seventh Heaven. Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN.
Thank you Brian. Branching out with music is not an option for me, there is so much out there and even at my age after listening to music for over sixty years I still get stunned by new music that I come across. As I keep saying "The more I get to know about music the more ignorant I realise I am".
Everyone has a voice and needs to be heard.
Very true w c.
