Tune: Lux Benigna
('Lead, kindly light')
*******
Lord, light our way, where darkness seems to loom
Like heavy gloom
Inspire, anoint us, showers of your grace
Fall on each face
So looking to you we made radiant
You in us, we in you, your Son you sent
Help us today's light seek, to be content
And to relent
From pursuing tomorrow's light, for we
Not yet it see
But in your time you daily bread provide
While comforting us, in our hearts reside
Forgive where we dull, slow to act may be
Come set us free
Give boldness, courage, strength and energy
E'en unto me
That serving you acceptably we will
Know your presence, your Spirit with us still
Knowing no deed or word need be useless
You will it bless
We your witnesses, your evangelists
We know sure this
Sharing the gospel message and our Lord
He the eternal, e'er the living Word

Amen.
Thanks Gold.
Where is the luminous light?
It's behind you!
I've seen the light !
Thanks Michael. If all else fails, put a new battery in the torch!
You always give such eminent advice - thank you Orchi.
Miss Berles advises me, but she goes made if me syllables are incorrect. Such as when me telly wouldn't work, she said 'Plug it in and put the mains switch on'. Hmm, I never though of that. Brilliant, don't you agree?
she's an intellectual.
Did you meet her the other evening on your entertaining?
Orchi,
A fine write and clip!
~Laura~
Thanks Laura.
ANGELA HERE UNCLE STEVE: From the Bay of Islands NZ. I love this hymn and my Spiritual Mantra is "Lead thou me on, I do not ask to see, the Distant Scene one step enough for me!" Only GOD knew Id be dancing the POI (see my Poem) for BRIAN this week. I love the sentiments in the Poem :
Help us todays light seek, to be content
And to relent
From pursuing tomorrows light
For we not yet it see !
I love your line contortions for the
sake of rhyme, so quaint & medieval!
You lift up my heart every Morning
Lots of LOVE ANGELA XXXX
Thanks A&B. Of course, we wouldn't say 'We not yet it see' in everyday chat. 'I not yet today faint' not having read any swoony stuff! lol. I'm a medieval monk maybe. Call me Rasputin - mad!
Bit pesky - start off on 10 syllables, then short lines of only 4 syllables, then back to 10 syllables again!
A lovely read Orchi - thanks for sharing.
Thanks Fay.
