Tune: Winchester New
('Ride on, ride on in majesty')
Psalm 83
**********
Keep not silence, O God, your peace
Hold not, until enemies cease
Be not still, for they make tumult
And too the righteous they insult
They seek your people to destroy
Crafty, evil ways they employ
O God make them as whirling dust
That blows away, they not you trust
May they be ashamed, so may they
Turn to you, seek your name alway
Your name the LORD, great evermore
You rule and reign from shore to shore
Let them be troubled, confounded
And ashamed, for they be misled
Act, so all know your name alone
Is JEHOVAH, e'er on your throne

Made me self swoon! I searched for 'Ride on' for an original hymn clip, and 'Naked bike ride' appeared. Whoops! Erm, I've not posted that by mistake, have I? heehee.
Enemy eradication - is it done with an arrow?
Fine work O

I'm sorry Orchi - all I could think about when I read is Conan the Barbarian movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. When asked "Conan what is best in life" - Conan replies: Destroy your enemies, see them run before you and hear the lamentation of the women"..... all in a deep Austrian accent ...... so funny....... so I'm laughing! Shame on me.......
Thanks Lorna. I've not seen that film! lol.
It's very camp but it might make you swoon............oh by the way, I found a youtube site that says it will cover the Battle of Hastings events on October 13-14 - are those your dates?
Oh yes. Oh lol, some family members are actually going there that weekend, mainly for fireworks display.
Another good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Orchi,
A great hymn and poem!
It reminded Lorna of the movie āConan the Barbarianā! A movie I did enjoy watching!
It reminded me of Charlton Hestonās chariot race in the movie, āBen-Hurā! One of the movies on my favorites list!
