Harrowed World.

Goldfinch60

It can invade our minds,

Invade our souls.

Bring joy,

Bring sadness.

It can heal rifts

In opposing sides.

Its beauty

Can bring peace to all,

Can bring peace to all

When music flows,

Flows into this harrowed world.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Music can heal many things, it is a shame those on power do not go to concerts together. "You don't book Lang Lang to hear a sensitive romantic rendition, you book Lang Lang to hear the impossible. " - a quote from the YouTube clip.

A fine write and clip Gold. Anyone playing like that at your church?!

    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Orchi. We have some fine musicians in our Church but Lang Lang is so special.

Watched last night of the Proms last night - great fun and I enjoyed it but I do like music I can get lost in - not easy with audience participation.

      • Goldfinch60

I too watched the last night - wasn't Jess Gillam brilliant?

        • Michael Edwards

Jess Gillam is a star beyond words - I could watch her all night. Such a joy and she injects it into her music.

It most certainly does ease the troubled mind. However i was once given a record by a polish avant guard jazz group called 'pinski zoo'. It was music to keep you on the edge of your chair, a pal described it as the most unsuitable music for a dentists waiting room he had ever heard. That it does da.
Well I listened to da and I think I will give it back to you. Saying that though back in the 1960s I bought a John Coltrane LP whne he was in his very avant guarde period and no matter where I put the needle on the LP it was all the same rubbish (it may be that I have a broader understanding now but cannot remember which LP it was). I wrapped the LP up and gave it to one of my cousins for Christmas - I got it back the following Christas.

LOL, as a sax player i listen to a lot of saxmen but i have never ever liked coltrane's stuff... the classic miles davis track 'so what' is blighted by his bizarre solo.
That Pinski Zoo LP was given to me by a record shop owner who didn't want it in his shop!!!

Where would we be without music?

                      • Goldfinch60

Very true - I certainly would be lost.
