Our Love Shows.

Goldfinch60

“I love seeing you two” she said

As I got our coffee in the bar.

“Whenever I see you my heart flutters,

You always look happy together.

You seem to be so in love.

A big smile is on my face

As soon as you walk in.

You really are a wonderful couple,

And I am so pleased that you come here,

It always makes my day.”

Such kind words that greeted me

From the young lady,

The young lady who served my coffee.

The emotion inside me was humbled

At the wondrous words

Spoken by this young lady,

As we went for coffee.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This happened yesterday. Our coffee was being prepared by the young lady in the coffee bar, the one we go in several times a week, and we always have a chat and the words that I have written are very close to the ones she said. My wife and My love for each other must show.

A lovely write Gold. But- huh! Some places you're lucky to get a grunt, let alone a please or thank-you when paying for goods!

    • Nicholas Browning

      True indeed.

Thank you Orchi, yes some places can be like that, but more often than not if you smile they will speak to you.

        Andy,

That young lady in the coffee bar is lucky enough to actually see the love you and your wife have for each other! I can “see” it throughout any of your writings that I read where you reference Joyce! God Bless you both!
All my love to Joyce and you!

        ~Laura~

P.S. - You chose the perfect song to complement your write!

Love is hard to find these days. Bottom of the barrel dragging mooks in the mud I tell you. It must make you feel nice when your love for someone can affect someone else in a positive way. I shall remember this. Good work sir, both in life and in your travels to the shop.

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you Nicholas, it was wonderful to hear this young lady say these things to me, there are some truly nice people in this world.

What an example to set. Too many people today fixate on the negative. I'm sure your life isn't perfect but you and your wife obviously share a great love... As Pa Larkin would say 'Perfect!!Maggie

                  • Goldfinch60

Thank you Maggie, our life isn't perfect as Joyce has dementia but the love we have for each other will never die.
