Lost in Words.

Goldfinch60

The page sits before me,

The first word gets written

And I am lost,

Lost the world of words,

Lost in the emotions

That flow through me

As the words grace the page.

It could be of love,

The love of others,

The love of nature,

It could be of music.

That music which means so much

As it sails into my body,

And will be with me for eternity.

It could be art,

The wonder of an artist

Showing me the world

In a different way,

So my mind broadens.

The reverie of life is always with me

As I write,

Write these words

Where time flows,

Where time no longer exists,

And where my mind is not of this world,

But lost,

Lost in the words,

The words on this page.

A fine write and clip Gold. Your first word here was 'The...' That has endless possibilities as to what may come next.
What is tricky is people who get annoyed at sentences starting with 'And'. And another thing.... lol.

      Thanks Orchi.
So in poetry anything goes like
And it is called poetic licence innit.
So I have mine in my wallet if ever you want to see it.

Nice write, I kind of relate to you in the way that I sometimes start a poem then immediately get lost and don’t know what to write.

      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Brycycle. It is not that I do not know what to write, I start writing something then the my muse comes into my mind and leads the words down another path.

        • Brycycle

Ohh right, so getting lost in the poem (in a good way).

          Andy,

That great clip was a joyous mood setter!
I enjoyed your poem! It seems that you can write just about anything...never at a loss for words! Awesome!

          Love to Joyce and you!

          ~Laura~

Thank you Laura, you are most kind.

Ahhhhhhh UNCLE ANDY ~ You fill up my senses with GS ~ Sublime Poetry and perfect symbiotic scores. Many happy hours spent @ the G & S weeks @ Buxton (perfect setting in a Perfect Theatre) now at Harrogate but lacking some of Buxtonic Charm ? !
Loved your Poem. I always carry a pen 'n pad with me so I can capture my MUSE as she flits in and out of my MIND.
When my MUSE moves I write it down ~ often gobbledegook ~ but then I hone it into the Fine Sonnets ~ Acrostics ~ HAIKU etc which I post on MPS. I am a sub-editor of our College Magazine and often subscribe an apposite Ditty ! Also unlike my NEMESIS John Betjeman (Would that I had His MUSE !) I am happy to compose to order for FUNCTIONS etc. Poetry is Poetry and like singing ~ it is a GIFT ! Blessing in all your activities and ANGELA sends her love to JOYCE ~ Who is your Best Muse ! 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Thank you Brian. I do have a picture of Calliope looking over me when I write my words but I can just write and My Muse can sometimes guide me down another path. Some of my poems just seem to appear without any thought from me.

Love the write and love G&S and hate the M25 - I avoid it as much as I can but it's not easy when travelling round the outskirts of North London.

              • Goldfinch60

                Thank you Michael.
At the senior school that I attended they had a history of performing G&S every year. It was a boys grammar school and so the boys had to dress up as ladies. My father also attended the school and was a member of the G&S Society. He was Yum Yum in The Mikado and Patience in Patience.
Nowadays the school combines the performances with a girls grammar school.

Written by the pen of one whom picks one up every day to write just one more. In doing do you have honed your craft - “List In Words” invokes that which makes up the excitement and mystery for writers and poets. It is true - this inspiration other artists will ignite in us ... anyone who is serious about writing studies and reads the works of others. Well done!

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you very much Gary. Yes the inspiration of many things bring the words to my mind and then to the page.

Lost in thoughtfully expressing your minds content. Eloquently.
