UNSATED.

Fay Slimm.

Unsated.

Sheer raw need is no less
than gross unfed

internal hunger.

It eats calm alive, knives
holes in pride with no

aiding balm.

Gut-hurt pains and never

subsides.

It rides emotions like wild
untameable

and tireless steeds.

Nostalgia cannot succeed

 in relieving this kind

of loneliness.

Thorned thoughts sting every

corner of grieving
minds and

betrayed cores.

Open, scarred yet unspoken
feelings stick tightly
to throats

exposed to solo.

Sighs turn septic, throw
fuses on tears
which  bleed frustration

almost incessantly.

Best is closure so hunger

can then turn

elsewhere for comfort

of care's desserts

for it knows  how much

unsated love hurts.

      • Fay Slimm.

Many thanks Orchi. Not an easy subject to write on but I tried to bring out the devastation of sudden loneliness.

      • BRIAN & ANGELA

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS FAY : ANGELA here : BRIAN is at work and Ive finished for the day 9:30pm! After I turned 17 the feminine longing inside of me was UNSATED from time to time. I guess I was yearning for Someone Special who would Light my Fire! When I met Brian He gave me a deep glow deep inside my Heart and I was SATED & have been ever since. Its hard being so far apart : but when he phones & skypes me and I read his His Love Poems etc I am reinsated! Loved the pensiveness & longing in the Poem & the Picture : BEAUTIFUL Love as always ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

        • Fay Slimm.

So glad you found your special someone dear Angela - the yearning for love when wrapped up in loneliness is a worldwide experience and I wanted to bring out the consequences of a heart left bleeding with need. Thanks for your lovely comment.

Poignant - "Best is closure so hunger can then turn elsewhere for comfort".
Wisdom says 'put it away' whenever you can. Pain of loves loss accentuates solitude, solitude encourages the mind to wander into sorrowful valleys where waterfalls await.
But wait, the birds still sing, the sky is still blue and blossoms call out for appreciation. Life does go on and the passing years have given grace and knowledge - a cloak we wear.

You chose as example one of the better lines from this rather difficult outcry against being left on a shelf with a breaking heart - many thanks D.A. for your fine contribution to help fend off the demons after being the painful closure.

          • Michael Edwards

As I mentioned elsewhere an epic write dear Fay.

            • Fay Slimm.

Ah - grateful thanks Michael - have just noticed your lovely assessment of my poem under a comment I made on your posting today -- - sometimes we score with difficult subjects when readers respond and even relate to the content - - many feel extra lonely in these days of too many changes and relationships suffer - - I tried to bring out the depth of scarring when things go wrong.

            • Goldfinch60
