The last few days has brought on the rain
But I won't let it bring back the pain
Or the anxiety or the mounting stress
Just the opposite, it has been getting less
For years I was trapped and now I'm free!
Free from the anxiety so I can be me!
I'll look back at this time like a passerby
Never to ask God for the reasons why
These hardships made me stronger, true
For all the times I felt so lost and blue
Wondering what my purpose was and why
I thought He left me here to rot and die
So I have renewed purpose here again
Excited am I to start life anew, but when?
Patience is a virtue, and I need it badly
Because now I still need to take care of me
