FOUR SHORTIES

Michael Edwards

FOUR SHORTIES

DAWN CHORUS

The song of love that once I knew

I hear again

I listen to

The chorus of the dawn.

THE EPICURE

She thinks she is an epicure

She really is a dork

It’s true she loves her curry

But she eats it with a fork.

RANK MAKES NO HALO

High above the man who has

sits the man who does.

THE WAY TO HIS HEART

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach

 - so where’s the point of entry?

I’m glad I’m not a woman

- if it’s where I think it might be!

Ah - love the wit in number two but that third shortie ticked every box for me -- who indeed can sit high over he who has but the one who works !!! Great little collection Michael.

              • Michael Edwards

Thanks Fay - why not write a humerous piece yourself - a challenge ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

                • Fay Slimm.

Ah - - thanks for the invite Michael - - I love the wit found in others' poetry but I am the world's worst writer of humour - have tried before and utterly failed so will not subject you to work up a smile at another of my efforts.

How's the evening going? You invited Miss Berles over for a social evening of dominoes?

                  • Michael Edwards

Tiddly winks - I flick mine - she flicks hers. Oh we do have fun..

                    four gems Michael
Will you be revealing they way to his heart in any sequels?
                    I really can't imagine...
                    Bravo!

                    • Michael Edwards

A sequel - well maybe if I remember - I get carried away with ideas and forget all else - one of the joys of getting old is that you can blame it on your age ๐Ÿ™‚

                      • Andrew Charles Forrest

                        Sorry Michael
                        What were we talking about?
Ah old age I wouldn't know about tht
