ENJOY THE VIDEO ON NEW ZEALAND BIRDS : AWESOME
I LOOK THROUGH : Early Summer Mist
And see you have returned again
Same gleam of Green and throat of Brown
Distinct with Azure bands so vain !
You snatch a swarm of insects for
Your ducklings : snug safe on our Pond
You have returned a thousand miles
To breed : feed : wave your magic Wand !
Who taught you to return each year ?
To grace our humble pond and glen
Flying far from Wint'ry Estu'ry
Return in Spring : to breed again !
Such is Nature : so protective
Of her Young : live & die unsung
and often unobserved by Men
Who plot their own GOTTDAMERUNG !
Hope you enjoyed : comments welcome ~ ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
I love being in NEW ZEALAND : it so warm all Year
in N Island : the Birds dont have to migrate and
the KIWIS cant. In the Spring & Summer we get a
lot of returning Birds on the ESSEX and SUFFOLK

A fine write and clip Angela. Twitchers? Will that cause me to swoon?! heehee. 'Woof?' Fido is unsure whether to bark or not!
Thanks UNCLE STEVE : Well I guess like all "BOYS" Fido will bark @ BIRDS : Lullaby in Birdland ANGELA 🧡🧡
So sad that so many New Zealand birds are extinct or vulnerable - as your poem asks of birds - "who taught you to return " yearly to the same place - we have no idea of the devastation to Nature when one of any species becomes extinct. An appealing read dear A and B. xx
YES INDEED FAY : habitats all over the World : Rainforests : Savannah : Ice Caps etc are being devastated & destroyed by Man & Global Waring etc. 21st C Man seems to have little regard for the environment and the demise of Species is so so sad ! Pleased you enjoyed it : Love ANGELA 🧡🧡
Hello Angela,
An enchanting poem and vivid reflection on Essex nature and wildlife.
Charming.

THANKS FINE : Pleased you enjoyed : Birds always stir my MUSE and we will have more later. The BIRDS in NZ (which is subtropical) are very different and more colourful than in the UK! Love ANGELA 🧡🧡

HOLA CHRIS : Yes just a few days ! BIRDS always stir our muse so more BIRD poems later. Abrazos y Besos : Love ANGELA 🧡🧡
Good write, I too have been birdwatching for over sixty years, I started as a child with my father. I am not a twitcher though, I will not go flying all around the British Isles in the faint hope of seeing a Greater Spotted Orchi.
So many birds endangered now all round the world, homo sapiens has a great deal for which to answer.
THANKS UNCLE ANDY : Brian & I are both keen BIRDWATCHERS and on the ESSEX COAST we have lots of HIDES where we can sit in silence and enjoy all the SEABIRDS. We also have talks by the RSPB and other groups. I am enjoying the BIRDS in NZ but have yet to see a KIWI in the wild ! I have to smile at TWiTCHERS with their thousands of POUNDS worth of CAMERA & AUDIO GEAR : hounding some poor birdy especially one who has been blown off course ! BRIAN & I haven't got time to 'Twitch & Twitch again like we did last Summer !' Thanks for your comment & info : Blessings & Love to JOYCE & YOURSELF : ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Beautiful write, loved the whole thing and enjoyed reading it!
Thanks SONGBIRD : Pleased you enjoyed it Brian & I are avid BIRDWATCHERS and we have lots of hides on the ESSEX COAST : to observe the Seabirds. The BIRDS in New Zealand are awesome : Im on a Year Work Exchange! Every Blessing : Yours Angela 🧡🧡
