The crazy cardinal pecks
at my window each morn',
Hoping to garner attention
Or maybe he is forlorn
They say what he really sees
is a reflection of him--his enemy
So day after day he does this
Doomed to this nonsense--never free
What do you see in the mirror?
A friend, or an enemy, like the bird?
Some people drag on about
themselves, saying hurtful words
So this crazy cardinal has
been nothing short of a lesson
Be good to yourself and
in short, count your blessings!

I have friend who has a robin pecking at his window if there are no mealworms put out for it.
Yes they are both curious birds. Thanks, Andy!
Really entertaining read again. May i suggest that you place a small bird sized picture of another bird in his favourite pecking place and await his reaction. You may find yourself having several differing pictures and taking control of his varied reactions... playing with nature. Fun.
Thanks, dusk. I'll try that. I've tried putting stuffed cardinals in the window and that didn't work, along with other things. Thanks for your input!
This piece is somewhat funny. I have a Woody-the-wood that is always tapping on my window shutters.
Keep typing.
Persistence is key
Thanks so much for your input and kind words. Appreciated!
A fine write Christina.
Thanks Steve! Appreciated!
Although not indigenous to the UK a friend filmed one in her garden a few weeks ago - must have been an escapee and hope it is okay. Great write dear Christina.

HOLA CHRISTINA ~ como estes ahora ? Mirror Mirror on the Wall ? It is true ~ a bird (not familiar with mirrors) will regard hs own reflection ~ as a RIVAL ! Some people are like that ! When I look in the mirror ~ I always see a happy person I can trust ~ AMEN. Please check my FUSION ~ WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY ? On our Mirrors in the washrooms at Work we have written ~ THIS PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY !
There is a lesson there ! I was shocked to read "I used to like CARDINALS !" Surely they're still your favourite BIRD ???? Abrazos y Besos ~ BRIAN ~ Please dont forget the FUSION ! ๐๐งก
