BLUEBELLS REALLY DO FORM A SEA OF BLUE ~ AMEN !
I DREAMT the Bells were Ringing
But all that I could see
Were miles & miles of BLUEBELLS
Spread out like a Sea !
Their bright blue heads all JINGLING
And JANGLING in the breeze
A sea of blue ~ the brightest hue
Beneath the Woodland Trees !
Their scent it was so delicate
It took my breath away !
Now Im awake ~ My TEDDY I'll take
DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY !
Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN 🧡
I know its unseasonal in Autumn but I love BLUEBELLS
and this is based on another POEM by our Friend Pat
and it was on Her Stall (with the Picture !) to raise money
for our local HOSPICE ! We can learn a lot about PLANTS
and PLANT ZONATION from BLUEBELL WOODS ! They love
the Sun and bloom early before the Trees are in full leaf.
They never grow under Evergreens or Beech because the
Mull & More is too acidic. Kids love them (and the stories
of BLUEBELL FAIRIES !) and they seem to appear overnight !
As soon as the tree canopy thickens and when competitive
plants appear (like nettles & brambles) they disappear until
the next spring. Like in Life (and Football !) English BLUEBELLS
have to compete with the Spanish ~ but maybe after BREXIT
they will all go back to BARCELONA ! Love BRIAN & ANGELA 😎🧡😎🧡

A fine write B&A. A true story - a visiting preacher came to us once. He had quite a large teddy bear with him. He said he takes it everywhere with him. Causes mixed reactions from people!
Me and my TEDDY BEAR
Have no worries ~ Have no cares
Me and my TEDDY BEAR
Just Play & Play all day !
At the foot of my BED ~ to keep me safe @ night ~ I always have Big Ted ~ Little Ted ~ Stripey Cat & Panda ~ so I can empathise with "The Preacher & His Dancin' Bear". In my experience all Preachers are eccentric ! Thanks for your comment ~ Yours BRIAN & BEARS & STRIPEY CAT !
Bluebells are so wonderful to see Brian, thank you or the reminder of what is to come in a few months.
Thanks UNCLE ANDY ~ I always see BLUEBELLS as the real harbinger of Spring & Summer because they have to fight for the light before the tree canopy thickens. Because their BULBS multiply we know that come MARCH they will all suddenly BLOOM again ! We will be offline next week ~ Love to JOYCE & YOURSELF ~ Brian & Angela 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Ah plants - now you are in my territory. I also love the larger blousier Spanish Bluebells ( Hyacinthoides Hispanica) but sadly they are taking over and pushing our own more delicate English bluebell ( Hyacinthoides non-scripta) into second place. Not sure why we call them English as they grow all over the continent. Love the write by the way.
THANKS UNCLE STEVE ~ As part of my OU Degree I did a project on Bluebell Zonation (for the ECOLOGY UNIT) very interesting. In some areas there were more than 50% Spanish ~ Like Senoritas very Beautiful but very competitive. Thanks for your comment. We will be off line next week. Yours BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡
What a beautiful picture and poem of bluebells---I have never seen a picture like that before! As everything here is dying in the cold, it is a breath of fresh air to see such a beautiful sight!
GRACIAS CHRISTINA ~ Pleased you enjoyed it. In the UK the density of Bluebells is very intensity ~ this results in a very Deep Blue as in the photo ! The BULBS multiply each year so it gets BLUER ! It is getting colder here and parts of the Country have had FROST ~ FLOODS ~ HURRICANES not as bad as other parts of the World including FLORIDA's Panhandle ~ Tallahassee etc. I'm doing Coastal erosion next week ! Hope its not too wet ! There are still some slots on my FUSION on Happiness I have added some Spiritual Ones based on MATTHEW Chapter 5 ~ The BEATITUDES ~ Perhaps you could add another ? There are lots of things and experiences that make us HAPPY apart from People ! Every blessing ~ Abrazos Y Besos ~ Hermano BRIAN 🧡
B&A, Wonderful write. I could vividly see the image, in my mind, of a vast sea of purple bluebells.
And the rhythm was excellent. You should be proud of this poem. I loved it.
THANKS TAMARA ~ Yes indeed BLUEBELLS are unique in both their colour & appearance and almost make one believe in FAIRIES ! I am a Performance POET and in RECITATION ~ RHYTHM is more important than RHYME ~ AMEN ! Yours BRIAN.
Awww I love bluebells...we get lots in Scotland. Great write
THANKS JOOLES ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! I've been to Scotland i' the Spring & enjoyed the Highland Bluebells ~ lively & lovely ~ Yours BRIAN
