Words From Music.

Goldfinch60

It’s happened once more,

Once more I was stopped,

Stopped what I was doing,

Music stopped me,

I had to listen.

I was taken into another world,

The world of the composer,

The world of Percy,

Percy Grainger’s music.

This voice sailed into the ether

And into my soul,

I was transfixed,

Transfixed by the sound,

That wondrous, beautiful sound.

Music has so much power

It can stop me in an instant,

As it did this time,

And I was transported,

Transported into its glory.

It stopped playing,

But that sound was within me,

And from that sound

Came these words.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It happens to me so often. I am sitting writing or reading poetry, the radio is on and a piece of music comes on and I just stop, the music pulls me into it. It happened again just now, hence these words.

And fine words they are too Gold.
    Two questions:
    * Were you at the Agincourt 1415 reunion yesterday?
    * Does my singing make you stop - in horror?! heehee.

    • Goldfinch60

      Thank you Orchi.

Yes I was at the reunion, I saw you but I hid as I valued my whisky too much.

So very true Andrew, music is beyond belief sometimes where it is so wonderful.

It happens to me especially when I'm painting - music is the WD40 of life.

        • Goldfinch60

Probably like you I can remember when WD40 first came out - the fix it all solution for many things in life.

Have you seen the YOUTUBE vids - so many uses for the commodity - it's quite an amazing product.

          • Poetic Dan

Brilliantly captured of what music can do, I have theses moments so often. To be honest after every song I'm lost in poetry, if I wrote all my thoughts down in have time for nothing else.
