Tune: Sandys
('Teach me, my God and King')
John 15 v.1-11 parts

John's Gospel Series (17)
Christ, He be the true vine
We can with Him align
For we are the branches if we
Do abide in Him, see
The Father the gardener
Is, tends to the vine sure
Casts off branches that no fruit bare
Fruitful branches does pare
Does pare and prune that they
Bear much fruit in array
But ever in Christ abiding
Through Him do everything
If we His commands do
We shall bear fruit anew
For we shall in His love abide
Still in the vine reside
So shall Christ's joy remain
In us, with no sins stain
And our joy shall in Him be full
Our lives through Christ fruitful

Good one once more Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Good one Orchi - did you eat fruit at the reunion?
Thanks Michael. Yes, lol, all eaten!
SORRY UNCLE STEVE ~ I new hymn to me but i liked it ! JOHN 15 ~ The Vine and the branches ~ we all draw our Spiritual Sustenance from the LORD ~ A great analogy which those in Israel would readily understand. Angela & I love to visit VINEYARDS ~ anywhere ! I always think of the bunches of succulent grapes as the NINE FRUIT of the SPIRIT. Jesus is a great TEACHER and He used everyday things like SHEEP and VINES to get over His Message ~ Blessings & Love BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thanks Brian. Well, there's still loads of hymns, ancient or modern, that I don't know. The ones by George Herbert, as here, seem to have catchy tunes. 'Let all the world in every corner sing' is another one he wrote.
Orchi,
You’re amazing! Every day a brand new hymn/poem! That is really awesome!
~Laura~
Thanks Laura.
