John's Gospel Series (20)
Jesus to the disciples said
He did then look ahead
A little while, and they would see
Him not, so would it be
Fo He would die , be crucified
Though they be not denied
His presence for long, for He rose
Triumphant o'er His foes
So another little while, then
They would see Him again
For He would to Father ascend
A life now without end
Though for the time they have sorrow
Joy later they would know
Jesus, He would return again
The Saviour of all men

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. metre. I had thought of doing one poem per chapter of John' s Gospel in this series, though have added a couple extra here and there.

I hope He returns soon.
Thanks Gold.
Fine work Orchi.
Thanks Michael. What's Miss Berles waiting for?
She's waiting three - not for.
He likes where he is ..... he doesn't want to come back here.... who could blame him.......
Well, yes, there is that Lorna. But one day He will.....
THANKS UNCLE STEVE ~ Creat Organ ~ Great Tune ~ Great Hymn ! For Me as a Church Elder & Bible Teacher ~ The Gospel of JOHN is the most sacred Gospel in the Universe ! It presents JESUS as the Eternal Son of God ~ AMEN ! I could write a different Poem on every single verse in John's Awesome Gospel. In LONDON D L Moody (where you there ?) preached for two weeks on one single verse JOHN 3 v 16 ~ check it out in your BIBLE ! I love your poem based on JOHN 16. He lived to age 33 (I can empathise with that} ~ He died on the CROSS ~ He rose from the DEAD ~ He ascended into HEAVEN as our Representative on Gods right hand ~ AMEN. You have lifted us all up to Heaven today. Thanks Your friend BRIAN
Thanks Brian. And now beginneth YOUR series on John's Gospel, with Number 1 of 3,467 - or however many verse there are in John's Gospel! Notice that traditional reading of the Lesson there: 'beginneth'? heehee. And here 'endeth' things, cos I will stop waffling now!
Oh yes, I remember when...... I heard those sermons of Moody's in person! lol.
