Winter is back, with her coat of white
So are the holidays, to my delight
Families together gathered 'round the table
At Thanksgiving or when they are able
The season of giving is also here
The strain of the checkbook gives some folks fear
But those less fortunate should be on your mind
We should give if we can and be most kind
I live where people are out in the cold
From the quite young to the very old
That's why it is so important to give right away
Those folks live literally from day to day.
Treat everyday like it's a holiday!

Fine work Christina - just a shame I'm allergic to the cold.
Oh, so am I! LOL Thanks for the read!
Good write Christina, unlike you and Michael it is coming down to my preferred temperatures.
Thanks Andy. Wow you like it cold!! LOL
MMMMMMMMM.... lovely warm Thanksgiving poem for us to gobble up. This week I'm going to get the turkey and all the dinner "fixings" - enough for a large family (with leftovers) and give to the social services folks in town to find a home for it all........
Exactly! Me too. Thanks for the read and for your kind words.
HOLA CHRISTINA ~ WOW SNOW ALREADY ! In Essex (UK) we don't expect any until end of January (very unseasonal !). I'm pleased it has put you into Holiday Mode for Thanksgiving & Christmas. I have been looking @ Coastal Erosion so have been off line. Every Blessing ~ Abrazos y Besos ~ BRIAN (Panda sends his Love !) @@@@@@@ Loved your POEM ~ B !

Christina,
Our coat of snow is here...
Ready to be worn...
Along with a blanket...
Covering all the green!
We’re seeing the first snow of the year! It’s really beautiful...as beautiful as your poem!
~Laura~
Thank you so much Laura! I do appreciate the kind words!
Nice writing Christina! You make me ready for the snow, again. It is steamy and hot here in Missouri.
I feel ya! I live near a great lake so there is relief. But NO SNOW, LOL! I love the summers!!
