Once more it happened,
A tune came on the radio,
A tune I heard so many times
But not heard for tens of years.
My dad came straight to my mind,
As it was in his era
That this tune was so popular.
It was on the radio all the time,
Those good times brought to mind
As Dad and I listened,
Listened to so many types,
So many types of music.
Yes it was that time,
That time when the good times rolled,
And Mantovani was in our lives.

A good write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
And I remember it too - great memories
Back in the day, eh, Michael.
Oh yes, there are those old tunes which bring back similar memories for me. Though seldom heard for fathers musical tastes were somewhat bizarre.
My fathers taste in music was vast, it was he that started my passion for classical music and jazz. At his funeral I got a recording of Tommy Dorsey playing "I'm getting sentimental over you" which was one of his favourite songs and in the book of Remembrance at the Crematorium my brother and I wrote "Play your music louder" in it.
It would have been his ninety third birthday today (17th).
Thanks UNCLE ANDY : Charmaine a lovely song to wake up to : Its Saturday Morning here already !
