Tune: Duke Street
('Fight the good fight')
Numbers 24 v.5-9
*********
How goodly are your tents, Israel
And your tabernacles, we tell
As the valleys are they spread forth
They shall extend east, west, south, north
And as gardens by river's side
And as trees planted they reside
Planted by the LORD they sure be
As aloes* and cedars, see (*a-o-lees)
He shall the water then pour out
Of his* buckets, without a doubt (*i.e Israel)
And his descendants they shall be
In many waters prosperously
And his king shall too higher be
Than was Agag, king of old he
His kingdom shall be exalted
The LORD God led them and them fed
God did bring them from Egypt's land
Delivered them by His strong hand
Israel has strength as unicorn* (*e.g. rhino)
Enemies shall be broken, torn
For Israel is as great lion
Who shall then rouse him, any one?
Blesséd are they that do you bless
Cursed who curses you, we confess

That final stanza is killer man. Seriously, really nice.
Oh, and the descriptions of simple nature in this are pretty cool too.
Alrighty, joke time!
Ah Hah! I've got ya' now, furball! You might know Fibonacci sequences, but you don't know how to read a compass! (pretty good, right?)
I enjoyed the read, Steve.
Thanks N. I dunno what aloes (a-o-lees) are exactly! All I know is 'aloes' is 3 syllables, and not 2. lol.
Good one Orchi. Glad that you are using your Wedding tunes again. How is KP, why did she not go to court? Was it you that stopped her?
Thanks Gold. Ah yes, that well-known Wedding tune - well, it was for me anyway. I stooped her, yes, but only to save her even more publicity. She gets worse.
I got aloes in the conservatory and a couple of oracles just like Ballam.
Thanks M. Opps, it's Balaam - adjusting typo - as in Baa-lambs! Or Bay-Lamb. Ohh just thought of that - appropriate. You got any bay leaves?
Has Balaam got them too?
I've got a bay bush about 5 feet high in a large pot outside on the patio. we use the leaves all the time and often small branches tied round a joint as it cooks - you get the smell throughout the house and it flavours the meat a treat.
Doh! I know a Bay Road. Dunno if the trees/bushes were bays or what they were! Name amended on typo now. Some might think it's a guy from Balham, or even Mr Ram Berles.
