I might not like u to know it,
but my thoughts do often turn to you,
with a depth of affection and longing,
that things could be different and new.
if I could start out all over again,
and not make those mistakes I regret,
if only you'd seen I was real for you,
there'd be nothing impossible for you to forget.
and this birthday wish isn't easy to do,
for in truth there's much more I could give to you,
all you'll see is bravado, me having a laugh,
but don't ever imagine I don't regret our past

Thought and actions of the past can be so wonderful and never be regretted.
This was two ships that passed in the night.... nothing ever happened, but it could have.
A great reflective write - thankfully I married my loved one and we are still together so no regrets.
This was all about a gal who umm-ed and arrr-ed too much for a relationship to develop and i met someone else. That relationship ended and still she was around. I couldn't be forgiven for having strayed. TBH i'm glad i strayed.
Thanks for Sharing DA ~ This is something most of us can empathise with !
There have been GIRLS Ive loved before
Who have passed IN & OUT my DOOR ........ !
Im 35 now and (in some circles) almost old enough
to be a GRANDAD (17 + 17 + 1 !) However I am so
so pleased I waited for Angela and my Future Father
in Law is a Wine Merchant ~ Amen
Yours BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡
I can see where you are going with this..... how many more years will you be able to see straight? Have you rehearsed wobbly walking and slurred speech .... especially the phrase 'Occifer i ajopolise'...
Thanks DA ~ Angelas PAPA is a UK Merchant for RIOJA WINE (90% Red) which is ONLY grown in Spain ~ He has vineyears managed by HIS SON ! We try to drink in Moderation & always with Food or Wine ! Only one glass if driving ~ that keeps one well below the UK limit ! But if at HOME or we have a Minibus or Chauffeur maybe a Glass or TWO. We are very responsible and take turns to be the Designated Driver. We do have LOW ALCOHOL WINES (is that an oxymoron ?) which have the taste but not the KICK !
Blessings BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡
I dont touch the stuff myself, but i've known a few who do. Did u know that most heavy drinkers started off as people who drink in moderation lol.... teasing you.....

dusk arising,
Your writing resonates and it’s not easy to forget! However, I’m a firm believer of whatever happens, it happens for a reason! After all is said and done, I’m sure we’re better for it!
~Laura~
I'm sure i'm better off for not getting involved with this one. The piece was written a while ago and resting among my incomplete scribblings, I thought i'd 'put it up the flag pole and see who saluted it' so to speak because i hadn't anything else ready to go.
Thanks for Your thoughts on this one.
You’re very welcome!
I’m glad it’s up on that flagpole for us to salute. It certainly got my salute!😉
Ccoooeeee you hearing me then?! Even if 'He' does not hear me?
i'm reading you quite quite clearly orchidee.
seems like the anniversary of something that might possibly have once been great...
I also get the impression that these words are truly meant
whatever the case may be... tinged with sorrow & regret....
another one of yours that sounds good in the head and looks good posted on the page.... Neville
Something which once was important to me. Something which never would work, then or now... enigmatic. Time does it's healing thing.
Thanks Neville.
Thank Bodhidharma for time... I say... my pleasure, my friend...

It is clear that we never forget what we should have had but did not have. Those are wondering memories that sticks to the back of our mind and haunt us forever. Nice writing.
Thank you Marijoy. This is about a lady who I am glad not to have become involved with, Hindsight is so much clearer that that of the moment.
