This POEM is presented as a Blank Verse (iambic pentameter) 5 6 3
Sonnet. This consistent meter (10 syllables per line) makes it very
reciteable ~ despite the absence of rhyme ! ANGELA & I are both
Performance Poets and we would stress that one of the main criteria
of a GOOD POEM is its reciteability ! I have chose a BENJAMIN
ZEPHENIAH VIDEO in which He recites his famous POEM - TURKEYS
He is another example of an awesome Performance Poet ! Get a copy
it is excellent for a Christmas Party or Poetry Reading ! All Benjamins
Poems have excellent Rhyme & Rhythm ! WARNING ! For max effect
it must be read with a West Indian Accent ! Dialect Poetry (Robbie
Burns etc) is another MINEFIELD ! Angela & I do BURNS SUPPERS !

At the end of the poems list that is shown click on the Poetry Directory tab, chose By Date and you will see ALL the poems there.
I often read out my poems to people and all seem to enjoy them.
ANGELA HERE - Good Afternoon Uncle Andy ! Thanks for your info will check ! Personally as far as comments are concernned most MEMBERS only check TODAY & YESTERDAY and nobody seems to bother with FUSIONS any more which is a pity because for US that is real interaction - like a Poetry Circle ! We always find that listening to a PERSON reading their own Poem is exponential (10 x better) than them reading anothers ! Pleased you get a positive response ! What did you think of BZs reading - which was in a SCHOOL !

A fine write B&A. We don't all have 'professional' or 'performance' aspects though. I don't 'try' to make mine into certain styles. I mean, I don't force my poems. And I got no West Indian accent either. Oh dear, what to do?! Fido does accents. 'McWoof!' - see a Scottish accent. *groans at corny jokes*.
Now Fido's next poem is...… 'A dog of endless talents!'
ANGELA HERE - Good Afternoon Uncle Steve - pleased you appreciated our Tribute to MPS. We like all your POEMS and the fact that (like in some Medieval Hymns) you alter the word order to make it scan & rhyme ! The technical term for that is - Poetic Verbal Manipulation ! Those versed in CANINOLOGY assure us that DOGS do have a Regional UK Accent and that PERROS (Spanish Dogs) respond to commands in Spanish but not English unless they live in a bilingual family ! Dogs can be very intelligent - All cats are !

Woof! Fido insists ALL dogs are intelligent - as well as cats! I will give it a bit of verbal then - PVM. Or 'Verbal then it will give a bit of I will'. There's a sample!.Do Spanish dogs says 'Woofa?' picking up on e.g. Senora and Senorita.

A great poem for Thanksgiving or Christmas ! 46 Million Turkeys eaten in the USA @ Thanksgiving = 13% of a Turkey per person ! But only 88% eat Turkey so thats 15% of a Turkey each for those that do ! AMEN !

Thanks FAY - The Poets Constitution says *All Poets are Created Equal - But their Lives (& Loves !) - dictates their Diversity !* No two Poets can ever write an IDENTICAL POEM ! Brian & I are ENCOURAGERS and treat all MPS Members equally - BUT - Some - like YOU - are more precious than others ! Did you enjoy BZ ? I thought it was a great example of *Delivering ones own Poem in Public !*

GOOD EVENING MIKE ~ BRIAN HERE ~ Personally I feel its the way Jonathan has designed it. The opportunity to comment is very OPEN & EASY leaving one open to NEGATIVE as well as POSITIVE feedback ~ unless one dictates otherwise ! On other sites it is much more difficult or impossible. I have written Poetry since he age of 12 so I am used to critisism also a Serious Scientist since I was 17 ~ working in Industry & then Research & Education. Ones work is always under review ! I am pretty thick skinned so I would never BLOCK anyone and I enjoy a dialogue with *OUT* ! Also the standards of FORM & FUNCTION on MPS are pretty high so that might deter some ! We try to encourage new Members but quite a few get ZERO COMMENTS on later postings so they drop out ! You & I can count on at least FIVE which makes it worthwhile . At the moment it suits ANGELA & I to share a site we may go separate but it suits because of heavy work schedules. If anyone insulted ANGELA in a comment I would block them and she is agreeable to that. A lot of our Poems are collaborations ~ we usually indicate who is commenting ~ OK. Hope that answers your Q. Another reason is that it is STRICTLY Poetry Or Prose and it is not a DATING or PORN site or MARKETTING site ~ OK
