You birds who sit aloft, high
Or church steeple fly by
You rest a while, and e'en you
Are welcome too, 'tis true
For even sparrows find house
In church, with tiny mouse
They shall be in harmony
For God does dwell there, see
You look o'er graveyards, where lay
Saints faithful in their day
And memories and moments
That ne'er do depart hence
O what your musings, your songs?
You join the heavenly throngs
Of angels, and all on earth
To give your Maker worth
'Neath your wings 'tis a building
Church, which from praises ring
Praising the Lord and Saviour
His praise fades not one hour
You humble creatures, sing you
Join your voices anew
With humans to glorify
The One who ne'er shall die
All things do surely Him praise
Throughout their length of days
In wisdom He has made all
And hears who on Him call
Give us grace to conserve, see
Your care-takers we be
Appointed by you to serve
Though nothing we deserve

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 7.6.7.6. 7.6.76. metre, featuring birds and a 'church mouse' (?). I saw a cat outside church. it wanted to snuggle down on a bag I had with me, as it padded wit its claws. It was probably warmer outside the church for the cat, than inside it! Brrr! At a nearby church another cat comes right indoors.

HI UNCLE STEVE ~ BRIAN HERE ~ Afternoon tea break (some of us have to W**K !) Love the HYMN ~ Great Golden Oldie ! We used to sing a Chorus @ Sunday School ~
The Birds upon the tree tops ~ sing this song
The ANGELS raise their voices all day long
The Flowers in the Garden ~ blend their hue
So why shouldnt I ~ why shouldnt You
NOT Praise HIM too !
In view of the fact that GOD created them ~ I think
FLORA & FAUNA praise GOD much better than US !
The ANGELS of course are much much BETTER !

Thanks B&A, and a fine song included too there! One hymn line says 'Angels....who all night long praise to Him sing'. God knows we're human though, and can't stay awake 24 hours a day!

Good one Orchi. One day we arrived early at Church and found a swan waiting by the front door, it went away when they started coming found with the collection.
Oh lol, did the swan know?! I too may go away if they get keen, and do TWO collections! (????)
