Pill for Fitness.

It had to happen,

No more running the streets,

No more sweating at the gym,

Those days are over.

All you need to do

Is climb out of your bed

Take a pill,

And fitness will pervade,

Pervade your body.

So you can just drive to the park,

Sit on the bench,

Drinking your coffee,

Eating your food,

Indulging in gluttony,

While you look at them,

Look at them and laugh

As they run around the park

In their quest to get fit,

And you are now fit,

As you have taken your pill.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just read in the newspaper that a pill has been found that can increase fitness, it is being tested on flies at the moment. It is a drug called Sestrin. I have no need for this as I walk to my car in my drive EVERY day!

      You might have a long driveway! Can you manage to walk it every day to the car, without a pill?
      Ugh - why prolong fitness of flies? Wish there was something else they could test it on.

          Thanks UNCLE ANDY ~ We love *Chariots of Fire* especially this video which highlights Eric Liddel's epic run ! He not only broke the 400m World Record (PARIS 1924) but some of the Elite 400m Athletes fell over ~ because Eric ran so fast ! ANGELA is very fit because of her WORK ! Her Half Marathon Time is better than mine. We both have GYM ACCESS @ work so have plenty of GRATIS opportunitues for workouts. A fitness pill ~ sounds like a bit of a con ~ like an INTELLIGENCE PILL ! Angelas MANTRA (for everything !) is *No Gain without Pain !* Thanks for sharing the POEM and its future implications !
