First Rant of the Year!

Goldfinch60

Through the front door I went

And there on the floor was a letter,

Nothing unusual in that.

Opened it,

Read it,

And swore!

It was a bill,

Again nothing unusual in that,

It was from the Council,

An invoice for my lovers care,

My lovers wonderful care,

Care in the care home

Where she was treated so well.

All the time she was there

I had the bills,

And paid them every time,

But this one was different.

My lover had to go into hospital

So no longer in the care home,

The staff knew she would not be coming back,

Coming back to the care home

And this bill was for the time,

The time she was in hospital

With no hope of returning,

And to make things worse

There was a charge for a week,

A week after my lover had passed!

Do the council now charge,

Charge when we are in heaven!

Oh dear, that's awful, not in the sense of awe-ful, but horrible.
I got fined once because someone did not pass on some information - or somehow the info did not get to its destination.

Thank you Orchi, these things are sent to try us aren't they.

That's so bad - I feel for you.

      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Michael, it's not the money, it's the principle.

That is absolutely disgusting my friend .. The last thing one needs at any time let alone when they are faced with such a devastating loss..

I am so sorry to learn, not only of this awful experience, but that your dearly beloved wife has now passed... My very sincere condolences Andy.

Oh this is shameful, A. How can they do this? Isn't it hard enough? Absolutely shocking! I admit the title drew me in, the poem is well written but the subject matter has angered me as well so I can only imagine how you must feel!

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you for your comments Clara, I too think it is shocking.

Oh thats sickening. Thank goodness you are the man you are and can deal with this.
Chin up and move along I guess. Mallet and balls to the rescue.

              • Goldfinch60

Thank you d a, yes you are right I can deal with this and move on but I need to deal with the Local Council first.

this is totally unacceptable! We all know Government sucks, but this crossed the line. I do feel your pain.
