GOOD EVENING FRIENDS ~ ANGELA & BRIAN HERE ~ TO RECHARGE OUR BATTERIES WE WILL BE ON HOLIDAY (IN UK ONLY) FROM SATURDAY (24 OCTOBER) AND WILL NOT BE *ON LINE* ! WE WILL MISS ALL YOUR POETRY AND (AS YOU WISH) YOUR VERY WELCOME COMMENTS ON OUR ODD ODES ~ THANKS. WE FIND MPS IS VERY ENJOYABLE & EVEN CHALLENGING AT TIMES ! BLESSINGS - LOVE - JOY & PEACE TO ALL - ANGELA & BRIAN & SMOKEY CAT ~ πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

This Poem is based on a UK Survey asking ADULTS what they most & least missed about having to Work @ Home instead of the Office.  Brian & I have no experience of this because you cant *Manipulate a Patient* or *Conduct Scientific Experiments* without the Patients or the Students ! The picture shows Builders completing a Roof on a House ~ You cant build Houses from Home. The video is a remarkable performance of  *Ole Man River* by Sammy Davies Jnr.  It reminds us that for some People the *World of Work* is still very demanding and unrewarding and the type of Work that cannot be done from Home.  Love Angela & Brian XOXOX

WORKING FROM HOME ~ During COVID 19

What do You miss most each DAY ?

Chattin* with Colleagues ~ we haven*t seen

Sittin* in Meetings and havin* our SAY !

BRIAN & I ~ We cant *Work from Home*

Because both our Jobs are *Hands on*

You cant give a Massage ~ over the phone

And Practical Science in a Lab must be done !

*Dressing for Work* is a thing People miss

And dining together for Lunch

The *Smell of the Office" dont fill some with bliss

And the Bosses Jokes always lack Punch !

Working from Home has its downside

Feedin* & Playin* with Cats & with Dogs

Havin* to *Home School* the Kids runnin* wild

Runnin* the Household & choppin* up Logs !

The best plan of all ~ and with this folks agree

Mon - Wed & Friday ~ workin* at WORK

Tuesday & Thursday HOME ~ seems good to me

Ive a GYM in our Garden for *Physical Jerk* !

Working @ Home takes the strain out of Travel

But for BRIAN ~ His Science (for H & S) in a LAB

Most of our Work we just cant unravel

I cant give ACUPUNCTURE ~ with a Virtual Jab !

Thanks for visit comments welcome Love Angela 🧑 Brian πŸ’™

What are your experiences of *Working from Home* ~ Furloughing (Brian had to do it ~ three days a week while the College was closed to Students) and what most Parents dread *Home Schooling* !

    Thanks B&A.
At least some boring 'Staff meetings' can't be held in person. Sometimes 2 hours of waffling (necessary I suppose). Or worse 'Team Building events', most of which I find completely naff!

Work? Work? OH WORK! - yes I remember work all forty seven years one month of it. That is now in the past as retirement called me into the busiest time of my life.

I work at being retired and I do it at home but have many social meetings with both home and away - outside of course - not sure what will happen as the weather deteriorates - most of them are too old to consider zoom.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

BRIAN HERE Good Morning Uncle Mike - Evening Class (A - Level Chemistry Revision - always a delight) so *Home Alone with Smokey* ! I envy the retirees in this situation because the ON / OFF syndrome for Education & Commerce is upsetting. Most College Stuents (even those with Specific Needs) are responsible. As you say Meetings al-fresco meet the rules but the weather will soon be Wintery *Now is the Winter of our Discontent !*

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
    Love A & B & Smokey Cat πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Choices galore in this question of working from home or away - - your verse puts the whole thing in perspective as you certainly cannot massage over the phone - ha ha .Good points taken dear duo....
