Tell Her While You Can

Accidental Poet

Thunderous, your heart beats for her

But safe is your secret love

Unbeknownst to everyone

Except yourself and stars above

At sight of her

In silent awe, you stare

You’re mesmerized

Surrounded with her air

The words stop short

There upon your lips

Hesitation holds you hostage

On “I love you,” you trip

But your inner voice

Tells you to persevere

Believe in your heart

Confess your love sincere

You might not get another chance

It’s time to make a new plan

Pull out all the stops

Tell her while you can

  • Comment from author about the poem: For today, my poem is inspired by the same movie as yesterday's entry, "Forever Young" with Mel Gibson and Jamie Lee Curtis and Elija Wood. My entry today is inspired by Elija Wood's character Nat Cooper, a 10 year old boy who is in love with Alice, a girl he goes to school with. Nat has been asking Daniel (Mel Gibson) what he should do in regards to Alice. The video is a little dark to see, but is worth the watch. Thank you for watching. AP ; )
