to dream as an innocent

dusk arising

Aghast, I am taken by the hand
into woodland wilde
by nimble will of diminutive,
near translucent, fairey child.
Bejewelled butterfly wings
catch trick-lets of sunlight cascade
where summer's raindrops
turn to rainbow cascades
of glittering dust droplets
bursting upon fingertip's reach.
Branches on high dance gentle
on the breeze to reach down
leafy greeting smiles to
tease with skin tickling touch.
There among childhood dreams
I'm relaxed amid forest sprites
sipping honeyed leaf dew
from serving buttercup blossoms.
So, so gently my excited entrance
into wonderland's childlike dream
has calmed with tranquil waves of peace
to deep restful soothing rythmn
as sleep's contentment overtakes me.

Thank you Fay, writing these types of fantasy brings out the little child resting somewhere deep inside me. I only hope i get to share with my grandchildren soon, this pandemic is keeping us apart sadly.

I think what I like most about what you write is how unselfconscious you are about sharing. I can't help think you are a little girl when you pen something this. You can go anywhere. So fun!

              • dusk arising

LOL, well lets say it brings out the empathy with the fantasy world of my two young grand-daughters in me. I'm pleased you enjoyed this, thank you for your word.
