Aghast, I am taken by the hand
into woodland wilde
by nimble will of diminutive,
near translucent, fairey child.
Bejewelled butterfly wings
catch trick-lets of sunlight cascade
where summer's raindrops
turn to rainbow cascades
of glittering dust droplets
bursting upon fingertip's reach.
Branches on high dance gentle
on the breeze to reach down
leafy greeting smiles to
tease with skin tickling touch.
There among childhood dreams
I'm relaxed amid forest sprites
sipping honeyed leaf dew
from serving buttercup blossoms.
So, so gently my excited entrance
into wonderland's childlike dream
has calmed with tranquil waves of peace
to deep restful soothing rythmn
as sleep's contentment overtakes me.

Ah - a bouquet of persuasive vocabulary to set any mind at rest - this cascade of lyrical imagery has to one of your best and must be included in my list to be read over and over again........ really great stuff Dusk.
Thank you Fay, writing these types of fantasy brings out the little child resting somewhere deep inside me. I only hope i get to share with my grandchildren soon, this pandemic is keeping us apart sadly.
Lovely dusk 🙂 such a lovely way with words ... flows so nicely !
Glad you enjoyed this one yellowrose, do you have little ones to share this with?
the reader leaves this page contented
Yes .. a real treat DA this kind of mixed up sunny rainy day ........... cheers N
I guess I'd never make a weatherman (mind you they do get it wrong occasionally), I'm claiming the 5th ammendment to the poetic licence roolz. Thank you Neville.
A treat indeed dusk - great flow.
Thank you, its grandchildren stuff.
Beautiful, Dusk.
I agree with Fay saving this one to read over,
Read it to the grandchildren and get into character.... I'm looking forward to reading it to mine. Thanks Jerry.
I think what I like most about what you write is how unselfconscious you are about sharing. I can't help think you are a little girl when you pen something this. You can go anywhere. So fun!
LOL, well lets say it brings out the empathy with the fantasy world of my two young grand-daughters in me. I'm pleased you enjoyed this, thank you for your word.
May that contentment be forever with you d a.
Andy
