Tea/coffee, cookies and a book

spilleronsheet

Stressed

anxious

nervous

the three Greys shadowing in greens

an addiction

to relieve the pains

a sublime taste lingers

over the cold tongue that it tastes

the one

a bitter as it lace

A strong flavour to senses

bringing the mind back to its train

when all seem strained

they say a lot can happen

happen over a cup of coffee

with some cookies on plate

but simply coffee

or tea

brings back the trained mind

to relax

maybe an addiction

playing with mind

playing with tongue

hitting the nerve with bitterness as it please

the rolled leaves

the crunchy beans

mixed with lukewarm water

plays with aroma on streets

a book to cover beside

telling its tale overnight

of the warriors who fought

of the battles they lost

yet determined to fight

the tale of tea, coffee and book beside

with cookies bringing sweetness in life

a normal evening waving to goodnight

another day running in cold mess

rushing with moving hands of clock

ticking it’s own time….

Great poem! All we need sometimes is a good cup of coffee (or tea) and a good book to sponge up the dark nights. Nicely written! 💖👍☕

      Thanks dear reader
      Maybe the book maybe choice
Or maybe a necessity for the coming projects
      Who knows
While the tea/coffee the accompanying partner in the race

Relax, have a nibble on that cookie - all else will wait, there's no enemy at your door - except time and the bosses' whip..... but for now, read a page or two.... relaxation calming you... you'll feel much better.... how about that resignation letter... or a snooze by the river.... a downstream day comes highly recommended

      • spilleronsheet

        That’s a great advice
        To resign is luxury
To visit the downstream is a fantasy
And to sign the face of boss is courage
Looks like I lack all of them
But I truly enjoyed the downstream
And thanks for a lovely reply dear dusk

Must admit, I think the world would end if coffee disappeared. Tea, on the other hand, us Brits would need to actually work instead of conquering the world with our tea breaks.

        • spilleronsheet

          Nice distinction dear Paul
          Tea for the work
          And coffee for the heart
          Allows us to live
          To breathe the air
          Such an addiction

Felt this and more than just about coffee....it's other worldly.....

          • spilleronsheet

            Thanks a lot dear Lorna
            I am glad I could connect with…
