quench

dusk arising

my songbird of the wood green wild
placed lyrics on the wind
calls her love from the forest green
come venture ever in

she sings to chords of the willow tree
paints flowers with the sun
floating seeds of hope in a silver stream
from cobweb finely spun
gathering tears of the sycamore
to quench her silver tongue
the elders sway in harmony
to the beauty in her song

my songbird of the wood green wild
now ready to begin
calls her love from the forest green
tis the season of within

the tinkling echos of the hours pass
come creatures from afar
midnite falls as a curtain drawn
o'er the light of a blazing star
the velvet spell of her pefumed hand
is taken by the breeze
oiled in love she kissed its name
then lost amidst the trees

my songbird of the woodgreen wild
now wed unto the night
calls her love from the forest green
surrendered to her plight
my songbird of the woodgreen wild
sings sweetly by the day
as she calls her love from the forest green
where silently i lay
