I Don't Like Tea Drinkers

AuburnScribbler

You’ve got the whole world; in your hands,

so, make sure to make, some real good plans,

but something tells me, that you’ll repeat,

that careless chant, upon your sheet,

where you wear that lanyard, loud and proud,

saying; you have the power, to give out shrouds,

to those who question, your constant gruel,

as you don’t want change, you stir the cruel,

the recurring system, that is man’s folly,

recycled errors, is what makes us jolly,

though you and the multitude, are the active,

you comprise the plague, that is so captive,

“just do, don’t think”, is your life’s motto,

but some of us are screaming in the ghetto,

needing our release, from our own home world,

that you’ve stolen from us, and now have sold

to those highest violent bidders, that stab,

although you may be crying, you are glad,

for you don’t look, when you run with haste

as, all you do, when you do, is waste,

thus, you’re like a tea drinker, who doesn’t finish,

as the last bit they chuck, they always diminish,

any hope; that anything, can be satisfied,

thus, with their ignorance, those tea leaves die,

in a nearby bramble bush, or down the drain,

forget the green, all aboard the plastic train,

you constantly elect, to be a slave to the broken,

where the wisdom of dullards, are brashly spoken,

why not next time, drink the whole damn thing,

as you may well be nourished, enough to bring,

a new thought to your brain, that has been yearning,

to take part, in some actual significant learning,

such as, popular opinion, will always lead to danger,

many people can be wrong, so don’t hate the stranger,

but, sadly, in practice, this is clearly unattainable,

so, I’ll continue to be an agent, that is so disagreeable,

hence, I shall remain, a disgruntled wishful thinker,

who will always say this: I don’t like tea drinkers.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I do not drink tea or coffee, which is another little thing, that my natural humility does, to stick it’s middle fingers up; to the mainstream way of living. These hot beverages, to me, are very much associated with the workplace, where you’ll probably see board-room meetings, which are adorned by paper Starbucks cups, or fine bone china, incubating the caffeinated poison, that fuels these relentless decision making exercises. But, there is one thing that “tea drinkers” do, which drives me up the wall, the last little bit in the cup, they always chuck it away. It’s a waste, and to me, it conjures up a more horrifying conclusion: if “tea drinkers” are in charge of making the decisions, and through their chosen ignorance; by not digesting the entirety of the argument, the outcome will always lead to dissatisfaction. The answer to your question is, that I prefer beer and wine (in moderation, I promise!) I hope that you enjoy the poem, I don’t dislike all tea drinkers, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Wow this was so smart! The comparison between the last bit of tea and the tea drinkers themselves. Clever one! I love the message as it's very true. The ones who hold power in these workforces are often corrupt and careless people. Wisdom to these tea drinkers! 💖😅

    • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Rocky, and for your very enthusiastic comment, it's very much appreciated.

Yeah, I thought the symmetry of the tea waste, and tea drinkers wasting, was a good thing to write about, in order to question the validity of certain chosen leaders, again, I'm glad that you found it compelling.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well!

Enjoyed the poem. I love coffee and drink every drop!

      • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Rozina, I'm glad that you enjoyed this, and more to the point, I'm glad that you enjoy not wasting your beverage.

I hope that all is well!

Fine words Ben and so true Ben but I no longer have to sit around at work drinking tea or coffee and discussing the ways and wherefores of work.
In my retirement I can just sit here writing and listening to music with a cup of fine Kenya tea nearby to sup with absolute pleasure for total enjoyment in my life, and it is real tea, no teabags in the house at all.

I hope all is well with you.

Thanks for the read Andy, and I'm glad, and also a tad jealous; of your situation sir.

Again, with me not being a tea drinker, I cannot relate to the joy of the beverage, but I'm sure that the Kenyan brew, that you quaff, is to the highest quality, and from your words, it most certainly goes down very well.

Things are well thanks, and I hope that all is well with you!
