postcard home to mother russia

dusk arising

Mother i am sorry that
i cannot be with you today
this mothering sunday.
I am with my comrades
you will be proud of us
happily fighting our glorious war
for mother Russia and Premier Putin.
Please find enclosed some
photos Yuri has taken
of the women and children
our glorious forces have killed
to ensure our victory.
Do not worry for my welbeing
these women and children
do not put up much of a fight.
When I am home again
we will all be happy
I have much lootings to share
with you and sister Olga.

Sad, filled with emotion and the tragic outcomes of what Putin is doing. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Christina. Yes this was quite a statement piece and motivated by my anger and disgust at what we, mother's sons, are capable of doing to one another.

Thanks Neville. Most were left unable to comment by the look of it but I'm sure you see where the spirit of this piece comes from and why i had to write it on a loving day such as is this mothering sunday. I wrote it out of disgust.

Sir, I am pleased to inform you that you are appointed to the position of Chief Propagandist in the East Section here at MI6 effective immediately.

I'm away on military duties at the moment. Can I send my mum along please.

            • Doggerel Dave

We can see no obstacle at this juncture. She imbued certain values in you no doubt; you inherited her values and literary skills no doubt. Subject to a personal interview and probationary period, a permanent position may well be available.

Don't be disheartened, dusk - the pattern looks very similar (or better) to one of my rants.
