Good Grain

Tune: Hereford

('O thou who camest from above')

John 12 v.23-25

*********

Jesus said, The hour come is

That the Son of man should be , this

Is true, that He be glorified

The time is now, it not denied

Truly. truly, I say to you

Except a grain of wheat so do

Fall into the ground and too die

It does remain alone, no lie

But if it die, it brings froth much

Fruit, though they who now be of such

Who love their own life selfishly

Shall lose it, hear, no doubt there be

And they that live self-denying

lives, live for their God and their king

Shall keep their lives to eternal

Life, happy in God's presence all
