Rare it would be
For an aging man
To love one woman for all but
The first ten years of his life
Most will say it’s sad
To live a life alone
Some will understand
How he feels for this lady
And a certain few
Would give anything
To be that man
Still, this aging man
Alone as he is
His heart bears the smile
The smile of an Angel
He had there in his life

Dear AP,
Awesome poem complemented with a great video. There are people in our lives that come and go; but some will never leave us. They’re there forevermore.❤️
Thank you for sharing.
Wish you a wonderful weekend.☀️

Thank you Laura, in September it'll be 55 years since the first day I saw Sharon and my life changed. I've never seen it as sad, only as a precious gift 😊
So loving, and that is a rare thing indeed
Thanks blue. Yes, very rare. 😍
Such beautiful words of love, possibly sadness but never regret. Love is a precious gift to hold onto, no matter how long it lasts.
Sad for some Bella, but it's never been sad for me. Yes, I would've preferred that she stayed in town, and we got to know each other better, even a romance between us. But I learned to except the fact that her family had to move away, and she had to move with them. We were both only 14 years old at the time. We never know where our destiny will lead us. But trying to understand the reasons for those destinies can be very intriguing. Thank you for the read and your compliment.
Such sweetness in young love, first love.
Hey, it is what it is and if it makes you happy, then I say go for it. I'm glad you had someone in your life for the time you did. Great write!
Christina you get an A+ for paying attention and interpretation. 👍
That love never fails AP.
Andy
Thanks Andy. Never failed me yet and from my viewpoint, it never will. 😉
This is a beautiful poem of love.
Thank you Rozina. It was many years in the making. 😉
