Everyday

Accidental Poet

With each passing day

My love for you grew

From fifty-four years ago

And still today it’s all about you

Not a single day

Without you on my mind

Evidence of the impact on me

You’ve passed the test of time

I’m sure you thought I’d forget you

Over the course of many years

But little do you know

You’re my driving gears

Not that I expect

To ever see you again

It’s your smile within my heart

That powers me on like a train

And yes, I miss you

More than you’ll ever know

But this love was never about regret

Stronger than any words can show

Sometimes all it takes is one to enter into our lives in order to make us see the world differently. An amazing and sweet journey you've taken me on via your words!
