We all have our ways in life,
Ways of showing others the way,
The way to lead their lives.
But there is only one way to be,
Be an encourager and scatter sunshine,
Sunshine and smiles.
You never know whose life you may touch,
Touch with something so simple,
So simple as a kind word or a smile
That leads them to a better life.

If only folk would open up and show their true self with a smile or a kind word it would bring out the true self in others - - youe poem says it all.
Thank you Michael, yes if only people showed their true self it could be a wonderful world.

Lovely words )) encourager and scatter sunshine ‘ I like that line . It’s important to be kind . You know sometimes smiling does confuse people .. my sister once said hello to my neighbours who have been rude to us , I think she even smiled at them .. I think that confused them lol
Thank you Violet, I smile at most people and many just do not understand.
Andy
Yes , even strangers .. sometimes I’ve smiled at a stranger or said hello .. and I just get a blank expression ..
Very true gf
Thank you SC.

Someone said to one very anti-social person, fictitious I hope - 'Hello'.
The reply was: 'Hello? What do you mean hello. What you after? I'll punch you on the nose'. Doh!
Such folk are nor worth talking to.
They may be that way but it does not mean that we have to be that way, kindness goes a long way in life Orchi.

Yes this is so true. It works very well. I wanted to make the lady at the toll gate barrier smile as she was always sullen when I (and everyone else) passed through despite saying thank you and smiling at her every day. Just kept on doing this and one day she smiled! And thereafter.
Patience can bring such beauty to our lives Rozina as you have shown, that is great.

An encouraging poem, indeed. A simple smile has an effect we don't even realize. It's impactful.
Thank you Rocky, a simple smile certainly does have that effect on many people.
