Aaah, follow the aroma
Is it Arabica?
Woke me from my sleep
Was in pretty deep
Breathing in the smell
Good coffee I can tell
The very first few sips
Oh heaven on my lips!
Coffee black and strong
Whether short or long
Tastes so heavenly
Unlike gin or whiskey (?)
Gives me such a jolt
Speed like Usain Bolt
Ready to go running
Jumping, climbing, anything!

I was inspired by reading Teddy's Full Of Beans. My first cup of coffee today jolted me awake and I whizzed through these lines!
A point of interest - a recent large study reported that 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day (brewed, instant and to a lesser extent decaffeinated) has shown those drinkers to have a lower risk of heart disease.

My Dear Rozina,
I’m ready for an espresso corto (Must be 'intense' and 'strong'). After an hour or so of having my espresso corto, I will have caffè latte (an espresso lungo with milk). Lungo is roughly a double shot of espresso.
Thank you for sharing your aromatic poem, your artwork and your FYI.
Wishing you a wonderful day.😎

Thank you Laura and I just learnt more Italian words.
I've long been a coffee lover but i cant get my favourite beans anymore. Mocha beans which is quite different from what they call mocha in coffee shops on the high street.
These days I settle for a supermarkets own blend of beans and recently bought a twin wall caffitiere which means I can have a good three cups of hot coffee... mmm delight.
Yes your mention of the aroma... draws you into a coffee shop as you walk the downtown paving
I had an early appointment this morning so missed my coffee but reading your words is sending me right now into the kitchen to correct the error of my ways.
Definitely an envigorating write Rozina.
Thank you dusk. I drink Nescafe instant coffee with a little bit of milk at home. At a cafe I'd get a latte or a cappuccino or whatever brewed coffee they have for that day (I buy a set which comes with a scone). I will try mocha next time.
by the second stanza, I was all
Amen-'ing' and nodding along
delightedly
but then those last few lines
of the third stanza, seemed
kinda sacrilegious
to me beloved Pint, or three..
so your poetry, has me
at a lull now
stuck, in between euphoria
and doubt
oh, I know
I'll brew some Irish coffee
and will soon
be whizzing about, merrily...
lol
(a fun read, thank you
dear Poet
I tried to respond in kind
forgive me..)
Thank you Mek. I did put a question mark after gin or whiskey!
lol
indeed, wise poet
I'm living for this coffee fantasy. I can relate as coffee is my "life" as well, I have it almost every morning. Wonderful!
Thank you Rocky.
Three coffee's a day keeps the doctor away. I'm in.
You got it in one Paul.
It's so nice that something so delicious actually has a health benefit, love the poem, drinking coffee now,
Thank you blue orchid. Enjoy your coffee!
It's so nice that something so delicious actually has a health benefit, love the poem, drinking coffee now,, I completely agree with all other comments
Thank you.
Ah coffee - I long to find a cafe locally where they know about abd serve good coffee. Ask a so-called barista in say Cafe Nero where the coffee comes from and which variety it is and you get a blank look. Ask for Mocha coffee and you get some adulterated concoction with chocolate - they don't seem to know that true mocha coffee is a variety in its own right and comes from Yeman. Sorry - rant over. And, yes, that first coffee of the day is liquid gold.
Thank you Michael. Yes, I think their training (in some cafes) is inadequate.
Coffee seems to have a magical quality, probably the caffeine, but it does seem to make the world go round. It's the aroma as its brewing, the taste, no matter how you like it, and the feeling of well being as you're sipping it. Such a delightful poem, makes it hard to wait til tomorrow morning.
Thank you Bella. Yes that is so true, the feeling of well being. As we concentrate on the drink, some of our problems seem to disappear for a while.
A latte
An espresso
A cappuccino
All blended in my tastes
A coffee lover to another in praise
We share a trait
Spilling stories over aromatic beans been laid
Seriously liked your take
And the last notes of info that gave boost to my ever long habit of dwelling over cup of coffee….
Thank you. I like your reply poem very much!
Coffee is so wonderful, my favourite is Colombian which I grind from beans when I make it.
Andy
Mmm, Colombian brewed coffee sounds wonderful.
Strong n black is just what the doctor ordered .. and hold the sugar, tis surely the only way to start a new day .... Neville
Yes definitely. Thanks Neville.
I could smell it brewing. Well written and organized as well as rhyme. Well done
Thank you!
I'm sitting here drinking my exquisite cup of coffee pondering my next poem. After reading your well-written coffee poem, I was impelled to get another cup and proceed to carve out a poem for today. Excellent poem!
Thank you. Enjoy your coffees.
