what need in me for kisses

dusk arising

what need in me
for kisses
with no heart
for love to flame

a rusted nail
suspends a memory
no picture
empty frame.

  • Violet bluebell( used to be yellow rose)

Good writing dusk .. like your words ))I think even buildings and houses need love and care ..

Sad writing tho .. I like how you speak of a lot in a few words

  • Nicholas Browning

You've given us much to think about. Well done.

  • L. B. Mek

'its funny, you think by now
    we humans would have learnt
to have funerals, for our romances..'
    still, without it
it's all, that noir of bleak
    but
at a mere scent of potential
for it, to visit us again
    and we'll only be using
    those vibrant filters
    for our memento, snapshots
    of life..
    (another relatable
    and ever-so impactful shorty, Dusk
    thank you!)

  • Distant View

Nicely expressed in all its stark sadness. The second stanza is particularly poetic!

  • Fay Slimm.

  • Rocky Lagou

Wow. Truly emotional. Endearment is useless when there's no love within. Those memories, or picture frames, also feel like those memories that are just inescapable and that bring us down. Poignant.

  • sorenbarrett

A great metaphor well worded metered with a sad feeling.

  • Michael Edwards

A real corker and a fave for me.

  • Rozina
