FIRES UNLIT

Michael Edwards

Rekindle memories where you’ve not been

on your way to nowhere else

with nothing each side and nothing between

travelling forward in reverse

there’s so much to see and there’s so little seen.

I'd like to say... but i won't... because there isn't a, well there could be but i haven't seen one, maybe it's still where it wasn't yesterday when i looked. I'm certainly not sure.

Your piece today reminds me of goldfinche's venture into the kitchen this morning.

Along similiar lines - yes - there's none so blind as those who won't see.

'all that new, from that knew
      we like to pretend
      doesn't already exist, in our
      memories..'
      a thought provoking read
      thanks for sharing Michael..
      (btw
was that artwork done on a textured surface?)

My pleasure LB - the sketch is on rough watercolour paper.

Wow I admire your craftiness with words. The line "travelling forward in reverse" is so clever. There is so much to see and love and do yet it feels like time can be against us. Wonderful and thought-provoking.

Thanks Rocky - yes: see my response to Teddy. I almost feel sorry for those who won't see - they miss so much.

Love the intriguing title amid superior rhyming Mike - a wise conclusion too in that final line.

          Perfect in every respect ..
and has the accompanying artwork already been purchased ..
am asking for a friend .. Neville

Thanks Neville - I did a set of four of these and two have been sold but can't recall which two. I'll pop out to the studio in the morning and check and get back to you - bit too late now - I'm in my pyjamas.

            • Neville

me too .. or would be if I had some .. cheers
