Tune: Dix
('As with gladness men of old')
Psalm 119 v.169-176
******
Let my prayer come near before
You, O Lord, and hear me sure
And give me understanding
Of your wisdom in each thing
It according to your word
Which lasts ever, you are Lord
Let my prayer come unto you
Save me by your mercies true
And my lips shall utter praise
Grateful songs unto you raise
When you have taught me your ways
They shall sustain me all days
My tongue shall speak your word for
Your commands are righteous, pure
Let your Spirit come, help me
I have chose your precepts, see
Have longed for your salvation
Your laws my delight, each one
Let my soul live, it shall praise
You, and too through all my days
Let your judgements help me, say
I like lost sheep gone astray
Seek me your servant, for yet
I your commands not forget

Sorry about that Gold - reference to Ch........ Can't say the word until December. lol.
So you should be Orchi!!!!!
Your prayer isn't being answered because the No11 has broken down. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Doh! Everyone wishes it had been answered. I'll have to stay home, among poets, and sing now! lol.
Me too. What key?
Beautiful Orchi, never stop!
Thanks Rocky. They say 'It's got to stop' Me singing, that is! heehee.
Can I sing with you - back door key. well writ.
Thanks M. You could drown me out singing with me, then they wouldn't hear me! lol.
Good one Orchi.
Thank Gold. Now why didn't I chose an alternative hymn to this tune: 'For the beauty of the earth'?! Wishing the year away, mentioning Ch..... already?
Psalm of David. Nice orchi. Noice.
Thanks CB. I have a 'discourse' rather than a sung poem, on all of Psalm 119. I waffle on for its 176 verses!
Oh, that would be a read and a half! is there a PDF copy lying about? on the coffee table, perhaps? Won't promise to be good about reading through but take a stab at it. Some people are quite painless in their waffling on. 🙂
I have it on a file - how would one send it from here?
