There are so many of them,
You here about them all the time,
These dogs that have a mixed parentage.
My son has a labradoodle,
A friend has a cockapoo.
Why do they call them these names?
In my youth they were called the breed,
The breed from which they came
Or they were called mongrels,
All were fine and we understood.
But one day the day will come
When they cross a bulldog,
With a shih tsu,
Then that will be a load of excrement.

My daughter bought a Golden retriever x poodle when living in the states. They called them a "Golden doodle!" Kind of prophetic as it cost 10k to get it back to Oz.
Such a lot of money to get the dog back to Oz, it must have been worth it though.

Yes, it's a beautiful member of the family. Sarah's reasoning was she was worth more than a 2nd hand car. 10k included the cat!
Good write Gold. They will have to call it a Shihdog, not a .......!
I dunno what breed Fido is. lol
Thanks Orchi, the other name has more meaning. LOL

I thought - why not a Spanieldoo (cocker spaniel and poodle) or a Labrapoo (labrador and poodle).
This clearly demonstrates the fact that despite everything that is wrong in our world today sir, you have managed to retain a wicked sense of humour ..
Oh' and I quite agree .. such crossbreeds are indeed nothing more than that and sadly, a sure fire way for often very greedy breeders, to make an awful lot of money, from often very gullible folk who want a fashion accessory from .. just my opinion, but I am sticking by it .. Neville ππΆπ©πβπ¦Ί..
Thank you Neville, a sense of humour is so important in life and mine will always be there.
You are right it is all about breeders making money from the gullible.

Following a marriage break up my eldest son and his ex-wife are having problems looking after their family pooch. I have been looking after her for a few weeks and I think they are hoping I will take her on full time. Well truth to tell I've fallen in love with her - a miniature dachsund called Maybel - shes an absolute delight and I love her company so I rather think her fate is sealed. And not a cross gene pool in her wee body.
I do hope we will see an artwork of the pooch Michael. May you and the dachsund enjoy eachn others company.

I just wonder if the dogs had a choice, what they would like to be called? Once again a witty and enjoyable write dear friend, keep 'em coming.
Thank you Bella, the dogs probably do not have a choice, it is the breeders making money.
