Into A Darkened Room.

Goldfinch60

Well I took the plunge!

I had been saying for weeks,

It may even have been months,

That I would do it tomorrow,

Well yesterday that tomorrow came.

I went into the shed and searched

Searched for the lawnmower.

I found it sitting there

Covered in cobwebs and dust,

I dragged it out into the light,

I am sure it looked at me

With a puzzled expression

As if to say “What are you doing?”

Well I set it up and pressed the button,

And blow me it started.

So there I was on this tomorrow

Mowing the grass.

The neighbours didn’t believe it!

Neither did I!

I did finish the mowing and was pleased,

But then I went and had to lay down,

Lay down in a darkened room!

With a bit of music no doubt. I used to hate mowing. Mine was a lot of uphill/downhill. Amazed by the first- pull start. Here's wishing you a green lawn. Don't overdo it. - Phil A.

Thank you Phil, I hope not to overdo it.

love this! slice of life realism, Andy
          'that same Spring, revisits
          one more
and that youthful verve, we harbour
          jumps into life, again
till our limited adrenalin, is exhausted
then that quite room, and a little nap
          is all the energetic Spring
          we'll ever, need
for the next hour or ten...
          lol)

          • Goldfinch60
