I wanted a bigger truck
To haul a heavy load
But a truck easy on the eyes
While driving down the road
And he’s a big ‘ole boy
Built of strong bones
A handsome truck
Of all the vehicles I’ve owned
Carrying weight in the bed
He smiles like its meant to be
Getting’ the job done
He’s happy as can be
With four-wheel drive
He’ll take me off-road
Be it gravel or dirt no matter
Over hills and through valleys we rode
Painted a metallic black
He wears his color proud
Not the “in your face” type
That stands out too loud
One day I decided
He must have a name
A name that fits him right
So Black Beauty he became

lol I bet he roars like a lion! Nice wheels sir. 🤗 Your happiness seeps into your reader my dear A.P
aah, sweet happiness everywhere. 😁👍
What a lovely poem. I love the name you have chosen for your wheels. Long before I saw the film, I had read the book. The film was wonderful. Thank you for the chance to see a clip again and to bring out the twelve year old in me. So enjoyed my visit AP.
Thanks Cassie. I've never read the book or seen the movie. But after seeing this video, Now I have to. Glad I could bring out the 12 year old in you. 🐎
Really enjoyed this poem. And your pick up truck is very cool. 🙂
Thanks Tom, and the truck belongs to my dog, but he hasn't got his driver's license yet. So he lets me drive him around in it. 😁👍
Haha! I know the feeling. Our black Labrador fills the back seat of our car and complains if he has to share with anyone. 🙂
Sweet truck!
Thank you GenXer. Satuit wants to drive, but I told him not until he gets his driver's license. 😁
lol 😂 indeed. Tis a necessity!
Plus he'll need to take driver's education first, and then pass the driver's test with a Registry Police Officer. No bribing Satuit. 🙄
; their land is full of horses, their is no limit to their chariots.
Thanks 2781. 😊
A fine write AP.
That horse was hiding behind the tree. Like those competitions: 'Spot the missing horse/pony/spot the whatever!'
The horses were hiding from you Orchi. They were afraid you were going to start singing again. 😆
Boohoo. lol.
Now that you've christened her, it seems a shame to put her to work and ruin her image. But that's life, truck or not. A lovely ode to the beauty of a truck. - Phil A.
Christened HIM Phil. 😁 And that's what water & soap is for, to clean him up again. Thanks Phil. 😊
May Black Beauty always give you the ride of your life AP.
Andy
Everyday Andy, It got its first oil change yesterday. 😁👍

Absolutely love how you've captured the essence of your truck in this poem! The way you personify 'Black Beauty' really brings to life the bond between a driver and their trusted vehicle. It's not just a machine, but a reliable companion on every journey. Great work!
Thank you so much novellaa. Yes, I've always had a connection with all my vehicles. have a great day. 😉
