At first glance
She had me complete
My every ounce of being
Of heart and soul, I speak
I, just a young lad of ten
On a journey I could not foresee
Though unchained I lay motionless
Captivated by her endless beauty
Although fate would take her away
The best of me she took with her
I could not honestly commit
My heart to another
The lonely years came and went
With barely a worthy lass
For a benchmark so high
No one else could pass
Strolls down Memory Lane
Always with her in sight
She could light the darkest of rooms
Outshine all the sky’s starlight
A smile to turn the Earth
For all its days
Eyes so beautiful
To hypnotize a magician’s gaze
And now here I stand
So many years later
Still my heart in her custody
Forever my heart’s curator
Now, I’m an old man
My mirror stares back at me
But, I’m a happy old man
As happy as I can be

Thanks Andy. Appreciate the read and comment. 😊👍
A fine write AP.
Me life had gone downhill since I married KP. It's like an abyss with no bottom - me life, that is! lol.
Never gone unless we allow it dear A.P. 🌹
Don't even breath a word of it Teddy. I'll not have that sort of talk on this page. 😁🌹
I just realized I put Sharon's photo back near the beginning of my pages in "Many A Man". 🌹
❤️ Beautiful!!! The video is heart warming!
Thanks GenXer, always appreciate your being here. 😊👍
You as well! Love your work! Your Sharon is very lucky to have someone love her so deeply.
I can picture her now years later just as pretty as she was a 14 years old. There's a photo of her in the beginning of my page in the entry, "Many A Man" if you want to see her at 14 at the end of 8th grade in 1971. 😁
