Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!

Covid’s left a little bit of a fog – I’ve run out of inspiration. So here to fill in time is an oldie exhumed from the memory of a wasted yoof:
The biological urge of the camel is stranger than anyone thinks,
For when he returns from the desert, he makes an attempt on the sphynx.
But the sphynx’s essential equipment is buried far ‘neath the Nile,
Which might account for the hump on the camel and the sphynx’s inscrutable smile.

You're too fun! My, my, my but I can't help dearly loving this charming little beauty! Delightfully rendered with an excellent sense of humor and rollicking imagery until who could resist it, not to mention a subtle poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing.
Sad isn't it? I have to reach to another's work to find fun and subtle poignancy rather than do it myself. Never mind - a laugh is worth it, no matter where it comes from.
Thanks for the call and fave, Missy.
Ahh Dave leave it to you to bring a smile to this old man's face. This is a jewel. Looks like there is a lotof digging to do.
Actual author Anon. Glad you got something out of it. Well nigh exhausted I'll have a further ferret when I feel up to it
I'll be looking for it
Bravo
Stamp of approval received with gratitude.

Good fun words Dave. I hope you are feeling better.
Andy
Getting there slowly, Andy.
I've a feeling you would have heard it somewhere....
OK, you win the cleverness prize this round. Bravo.
Wasn't me - you must award the prize to that great prolific author, Anon.
But if you got a laugh out of it, that's all that matters.
👏👏
