Another Moment Lost
Maybe we should have
made love
there and then between
the statues
of Adonis and some other
lesser known
deity when we each had
the chance,
time and the inclination
of youth ..
Oh’ how the gods each did
frown down
upon us that day and our
naive hesitations ..

Love this and thinking back some 60 years I can relate - what a super shortie.
Thank you Michael those words of yours mean a lot more to me than you might imagine .. Neville
Good write N.

Early days, Neville, early days. Them statues certainly had something to say perhaps not quite then...
'Hesitations' at that time, has a certain resonance for me.......
I don't know what happened to my previous thank you I posted here earlier Dave .. but I won't lose sleep over it .. just glad I noticed the white space left behind .. Cheers again sir .. Neville
Allis good; not paranoid very often (liar!), but...
Hesitations in hindsight are brought on by naivety, and the number of moments lost are a testament and measure of my naive youth!
.............................................. Snap 👍
Carpe diem, those that hesitate are lost. Some opportunities come only once in a life time. So well said
absolutely seize the moment .. and thank you sorenbarrett
Awesome penning
and so true! 👍
So many things
I should have done
but did not do.. 😢
Terrific read thank you!!
Best regards ✌️ Thad
Thank you for stopping by Thad 🙂👍
All the moments of our youth should be treasured. They are why we are where we are today. Experience comes from mistakes as well as pleasurable moments.
I don't know who sculpted those statues, but would they be there today, if whoever did, had rushed headlong into man/womanhood too soon?
Another thought-provoking poem. Very pensive. A picture of path choice. We wend along making decisions galore and end up where we are. Would we change anything? If we did, would we end up the same? Maybe not.
Many thanks for stopping by and leaving such a generous review note Phil .. always both welcome and muchly appreciated sir .. Neville
