An Unreal Dream.

Goldfinch60

I sleep and dream of a world

Where all is joy and love.

People smile and acknowledge you,

They talk and laugh.

All is calm and light,

The light is there throughout the world.

There is plenty for all,

No starvation,

No drought,

No killing.

The strife of old has passed,

There is no more fighting,

No destruction of each other.

No destruction of the natural world,

Nature is safe from human kind,

Undisturbed and enjoyed by all.

Life is a wondrous journey.

I then awake from my dream,

Back to reality, and the realisation that,

The politicians are still with us!

LOL oh how wonderful, I feel so sorry for anyone who has to wake up next to Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage 🤣 that would truly be a nightmare 🌹

    • Goldfinch60

Yes it surely would Teddy but very unlikely in my case. LOL

I was reading the poem with great disbelief,
I was surprised for the state of no grief,
I was thinnking ,would there be white leaf ?
The last two lines gave me the best relief,
Pleasure and pain will always be just brief,
This is the only rule of God- the only chief !

Indeed, they are Andy a necessary evil they say. Well, written and well said.

Your only chance is to go back to sleep, Andy.

                    • Goldfinch60

                      Very true Dave, I did.

That punchline puts the punch where punches are meant to land! A waking ‘nightmare.’ Good morning world!

                      • Goldfinch60

Thank you for your meaningful words arqios.

I was drifting in the words of your dream, and then reality set in. Politicians do have a way of scuppering all hope. Have a good Wednesday Andy. Love your posted music today. Relaxing.

                        • Goldfinch60

Thank you Cassie, may you relax once again as I do to music.

Spot on Andy but we have a new regime and its early days yet - not sure if they will prove worthy - probably not but why should they be any different?

                          • Goldfinch60

                            Very true Michael, thank you.

“The politicians are still with us!” Unfortunately, so true.
                            Nice work Andy.
