Music Time Machine.

Goldfinch60

In our lives we think of days gone,

The good times and the bad ones.

Many things remind us of them

But the one that I always use

Is the music I listen to,

It takes me to times of the past.

It reminds me of my Dad

The man who brought music,

Brought music into my life.

The sounds of Jazz he played

And the glory of classical.

All my life I have had music in it,

Music of many kinds

But mainly classical and jazz,

And this is due to my Dad.

And because of my love,

My love of music

I find that music is like a time machine

As it takes me back,

Back to such wonderful times

Which are still here in the present.

Very true, especially this time of year being far from home the radio is my time machine when I hear Xmas music. 🌹

Music is like a photo album, you remember where, when, why you first heard it, without having to get those dusty old books out and look at the same photographs, Good Read

Ah, as you know from previous conversations, so had my dad influenced me. His style was less direct, kind of sly, leaving his 33 rpm disks for me to chance upon and playing his favourites when I was within earshot, never directly. And good old Herbert! Haven’t heard him in a while, his conducting, that is. Some of my first albums were recorded from his baton! Good to have something we share in common, Andy. The world seems just a bit hostile, just a little less unsafe.

          • Goldfinch60

So true arqios that we have this in common. I have a number of albums conducted by Herbert and the Berlin Philharmonic they are superb.
            Listen on.

This is so true.I heard Joni Mitchel on the radio and even after 40 years I knew the words to her songs. It took me back in a time machine.

That happens so often, in our cars we listen to a station called Boom Radio and it plays songs of the 50s, 60s and 70s and we are often singin our heads off to the songs.

                          Andy
