Empty echoes left behind fill a parched vapid mind
A hollowness eats away what was left of yesterday
Glimmering glitter, reflections blind, flickering joy does us remind
Shards of memories display festering sores of decay
Rainbow bubbles pop and pour 'or a foaming sieve like floor
Shiny dreams shattered strewn and scattered
A face of sand you wore, once touched it was no more
Evaporating in time spattered, lost crumbled was all that mattered
In debris of rot find, past glory of naught, enshrined

One of those reminiscences… and how they are so real and so fresh feeling, still!
Thank you so much for your read and comment Cryptic yes some remain raw others have scabbed over.
A few turn to keloids as well, I should think.

Thanks as always Melvin for the read and comment it is always appreciated
A reflection on past wounds and pain, and even though a wound may heal the memory lives on. Enjoyed the read
Thank you for your review and interpretation Tobani it is most helpful and I appreciate the support

Good write SB. I'm giving KP debris of rot for supper tonight! lol.
Thanks so much Orchi I appreciate the review is that a French dish?
Yes lol.
Reminds me of one of my most favourite people, who now has dementia. I'm losing a bit of her every day. 🌹 An exquisite poem dear sorrenbarret. 🌹
Teddy my poetic friend you have just demonstrated what I love most about poetry it can be interpreted in many ways by different people and some of these interpretations are more poignant than the author intended. Your kind mind give this poem new meaning to me and I appreciate that very much.
💙
Forgive me butting in here but you are so right - I like poetry that makes the reader think and interpret for themselves and isn't totally self explanatory - bit like abstract art.
No problem Michael everyone reads a poem their own way and that is great by me sometimes the comments I get are most revealing and open new doors that I had never seen
Happy or unhappy, we own the memories that have shaped us. We must live with them, and hopefully put them in some perspective. Love when you challange me to think. Great write!
Thank you so much Bella your visit is always appreciated and valued and I'm waiting for more of your most enjoyable poems
There is a lot to be said for nothing & about it too don'tcha know .. and then, there are those who make a fuss about something and never let you forget about it .. this is ragged and real, just the way I like em .. Neville
Ya have to write about something when the muse says nothing. Thanks for the read Neville your comments are worth their weight in gold. How much does print weigh anyway? lol Really I look forward to them and they serve as great fuel for the next fire or poem
A fine poem, SB
Thank you so much Jerry much appreciated
Well penned sorren
Thank you so much Domilla I appreciate your review
Soren, I love this existential reflection! 🥰 The contrast between “Glimmering glitter” and “festering sores of decay” shows both life’s fleeting beauty and inevitable decline. Also, that final line was mind-blowing! 🤯 It perfectly encapsulates existence’s cyclical nature. Bravo, my dear friend! 🌹👏
Thank you my friend your review is always so welcome and appreciated. Your support is most encouraging and valued
