Moon as far away as infinity
shining down onto soil
shedding light on each path
high upon the mountain
I hear the cries of a lone wolf wandering
cries of loneliness that can be heard here below
cries that lead me to reflect upon my own life
deciding to climb up to the top
it may take a lifetime to reach its peak?
but the cries are ringing in my ears
I’m now following my heart
I’ll find this wolf
I’ll make friends with her
putting light in her loneliness
making light in my own.

Not a worry. Wrote it out as it struck me. Sometimes I have howled like the wolf and at other times I have been known to recognise that particular call. So this poem does have a special meaning to existence. Thanks for sharing. I see the apostrophe is quite missing in soul’s up there… I’ve been having some struggles with the touchscreen….

Becoming one with one's totem is essential to happiness and completion. The act of sharing one's self with another another essential step to completion, bringing happiness to another yet another step in this process. All mentioned here and in great metaphor

We all like to search I'm lucky I guess - I achieved all that Id hoped for in my profession, had a wonderful life, great children wjho look out for me - and now I'm able to indulge myself doing exactly awhat I want to do - art, poetry, crafts, gardening, and, of course there's Stanley who is currently asleep across my arm asleep and making it difficult to tpe this - so much to live for. Sorry - I've gone off beam a bit.

The metaphor here is just magnificent dear Teddy! First, I love wolves. Absolutely love them. My first tattoo was of a lone wolf baying to the moon! Also, I have oft felt like a lone wolf in my life for various different reasons. This poem, for me, is both a call to get in touch with one's self to search one's own soul, find it, befriend it, etc, as well as a call to reach out to those lonely souls out there who could use a friend, a little light and some hope...all found in the caring presence of another. So, wow 🤯. This my friend is art...and it is beautiful! 🌹👏
